ORLANDO, FL – A new dining destination has arrived in Laxmi Plaza, located at 1155 Doss Ave, Orlando, FL 32809, as Mazala Pijja officially held its soft opening this past Thursday. The full-service restaurant, led by longtime restaurateur Sunny Corda, brings a fresh Indo-Italian fusion concept to Orlando. Its official opening is expected to follow soon after the successful soft launch, Corda told Business Debut. We came across the story first in Orlando Weekly.

Mazala Pijja is a full-service restaurant with about 45 seats, offering guests a casual yet complete dining experience. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., and remains closed on Mondays.

An Indo-Italian Twist on Pizza and More

There is no menu like Mazala Pijja's in the city. Orlando is filled with Indian restaurants, but Corda wanted to offer something different by combining traditional American Italian food with Indian spices. Besides several creative offerings like a butter chicken burger, or a spicy chicken patty burger where customers can dip the burger in the sauce, the restaurant offers Indian-style pizzas, with their butter chicken pizza being one of the favorites.

The chicken wings have also become a favorite; boom boom chicken wings and achari wings use classic Indian pickling spices for a sour flavor. Other fusion dishes include butter chicken spaghetti and Indian-style mac and cheese. “It's one of its kind. It's an Indo-Italian concept,” Corda said.

A Veteran Restaurateur

Corda is no stranger to the food industry. With almost 25 years of experience running food establishments, he started in New York. Then he moved to Orlando, where he has opened some of the most reputed Indian restaurants, such as Saffron in Dr. Phillips, Mynt in Winter Park, Kohinoor in Altamonte Springs, Madras Café in Dr. Phillips, and Indian Pavilion in Winter Garden.
