New in Fort Lauderdale: Flora Trattoria Italiana Opening Ahead of International Boat Show

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Flora Trattoria Italiana is preparing to open at 1021 E Las Olas Boulevard Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 with an 180-seat indoor and patio setup targeting an opening before the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, owner Michele Vandenbossch told Business Debut in a phone interview.

Vandenbossch said the team is working toward an opening at the end of October, ahead of the boat show dates he expects will run October 28 — November 1.

What to Expect

Flora Trattoria Italiana will feature a large dining room and a sizable patio along Las Olas Boulevard. A 36-seat bar will sit as a central feature and will be the first element visible from the street.

Flora is an Italian restaurant concept with an 80-20 split between Italian and American dishes. The menu will include pizza, pasta, fish, meat, and sides.
Vandenbossch said desserts will be a focus and the restaurant will have a full bar.

Flora Trattoria Italiana is part of a larger European hospitality group.

Vandenbossch said his group operates in France and across Europe. “This is our first of many here in the United States,” Vandenbossch told Business Debut.

Vandenbossch said the team is targeting an opening “maybe end of October before the boat show, if everything goes smooth.”

Hours

Flora Trattoria Italiana plans to open seven days a week.

Vandenbossch said Monday through Friday service will run 11 a.m. — 11 p.m. for lunch and dinner.

On Saturday and Sunday, the restaurant will add brunch from 10:30 a.m. — 4 p.m., with broader weekend hours to be announced.
