New Fine Dining Steakhouse Opening in Mt. Airy
Seasoned restaurateur and chef Freddy Lee is behind the project.
MOUNT AIRY, NC — Fablewood, a new restaurant from chef-owner Freddy Lee, is targeting an August opening at 227 Willow St, Mt Airy, NC 27030.
Lee told Business Debut the team is converting a historic space in the Barrel Building beside The Balladeer Hotel and is working through construction, licensing and other approvals.
Lee, an experienced chef and restauranteur, owns Bernardin’s Fine Dining in Winston-Salem and Charlotte, Spotted Cow in Winston-Salem, and Cibo Trattoria in Winston-Salem.
What to Expect
Fablewood is planned as a full-service restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lee said the dining room is expected to seat about 100 guests, with a full bar and wine service.
Menu and Vision
Lee described Fablewood as a steak-forward concept, with a focus on premium cuts. “We're serve like some prime and Wagyu beef,” he told Business Debut in a brief call.
Opening Timeline
The team is aiming for August, but Lee said the timing depends on the buildout and required permits. They are building out the historic Barrel Building in downtown Mt Airy, their Instagram indicates.
