ATLANTA, GA — 17th & State Restaurant and Bar plans to open inside the Embassy Suites by Hilton at 290 17th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30363, owner Trimi Dauti told Business Debut. Dauti said the team is finishing inspections and approvals, with an opening targeted around February 27.

What to Expect

Dauti described 17th & State as elevated dining with a modern Southern focus. The restaurant is planned for about 114 seats in the dining room, plus 14 seats at a new bar, Dauti said. The space is open to the public, and Dauti said guests can enter directly from 17th Street without needing to go through the hotel lobby.

Dauti said the concept is similar in service level to Thrive, his established downtown Atlanta restaurant, while taking a different approach to flavors. He said 17th & State will not include Asian influence.

On the menu, Dauti highlighted shareables like fried green tomatoes with bacon pepper jam and sweet chili sauce, along with mussels served with grilled bread. He said the lineup will also include flatbreads, a steak burger, salmon with forbidden rice and a bourbon hoisin glaze, steak frites, shrimp and grits, a bone-in pork chop, and steaks.

Opening Timeline

Dauti said the restaurant is largely complete and awaiting final city approvals, with an opening targeted around February 27, 2026, with additional buffer days for final cosmetic work.

Hours

Dauti said 17th & State plans to operate seven days a week. The restaurant plans to offer lunch and dinner five days a week, with brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, plus dinner service.
