New Christ-Centered Cafe and Restaurant Opening in Wilmington
Cielo Cafe will be a new family-owned restaurant and cafe.
WILMINGTON, NC — Cielo Cafe, a Christ-centered restaurant from owners David and Montse Saldaña, is targeting an opening in the first week of January 2026 at 3617 Market St, Wilmington, NC 28403, David Saldaña told Business Debut. The full-service cafe will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner built around a largely Mexican menu.
What to Expect
Cielo Cafe will operate as a full-service restaurant in their roughly 3,000-square-foot space. Expect about 100 seats inside. The concept is framed as a Christ-centered cafe inspired in part by the Bible verse Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Guests can expect breakfast and lunch service Monday through Thursday, with expanded evening hours on Fridays and Saturdays for worship nights. Local church leaders and musicians will be invited to perform and teach at the events.
Saldaña said the team plans to bake Mexican-style pastries and other baked goods in-house for the cafe’s bakery case.
Menu and Vision
Most of the menu will focus on Mexican dishes, supported by a handful of American staples. Expect dishes like burritos, tacos, enchiladas and fajitas, with some American favorites like pancakes. Expect also chicken and rice bowls and more.

The team is targeting the first week of January 2026 for opening. An exact opening date is to be announced.

Cielo Cafe plans to open 7 a.m. — 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant expects to open at 7 a.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. for worship nights. The cafe will be closed Sundays.
