Mystic Ice Cream Opening New Brick-and-Mortar Near The Villages
The Oxford shop will feature both boozy and non-alcoholic ice cream flavors, live piano performances by owner Darrell Day, and activities like trivia and karaoke.

In 2019 when Darrell and Lisa Day purchased the original Mystic Ice Cream location in Fruitland Park. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the Days doubled the shop’s sales, launched a food truck, and began expanding the brand into new brick-and-mortar markets. Now, they’re preparing to open a new location in Oxford, Florida.
The upcoming shop will be located at 3941A Co. Rd 201, Oxford, FL 34484, in the same plaza as Gio’s Deli, a well-loved local Italian spot.
Darrell Day told Business Debut they’re aiming to open within the next six weeks and expressed excitement about the location. The space will span approximately 1,300 square feet and seat around 40 guests inside. Operating hours are planned for 1 pm – 9 pm, seven days a week.
Since taking over the business, the Days have expanded Mystic Ice Cream into several locations, including Summerfield, and Leesburg. Their food truck now handles over 200 events annually.
Mystic Ice Cream is recognized for a few key distinctions.
Notably, half of their homemade ice cream flavors are infused with alcohol. Popular options include Kahlua Fudge, Cherry Amaretto, and Coconut Rum. For those seeking non-alcoholic treats, options like Old Time Vanilla, Strawberry, and Peanut Butter Crunch are also available.

All of the ice cream is made in-house, with Lisa Day producing around 400 gallons per week to supply both their storefronts and mobile unit.
Beyond the ice cream, Mystic locations are also known for their community events. Darrell Day, a former opera singer, plans to bring one of his pianos to the Oxford location and perform regularly. Other activities include trivia, karaoke, and musical guessing games.
As Day shared with Business Debut, they are likely the only ice cream shop in the area owned by an opera singer who performs at their shop.
