Music-Focused Wine and Coffee Bar Opening in Charlotte
Songbirds Wine Bar is planning to combine live music, coffee, and wine in a community-focused Charlotte space.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Songbirds Wine Bar, a music-oriented wine and coffee bar from Ashley and Andre Hunt, is targeting a March or April opening at 1030 E. W.T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28213. Ashley Hunt told Business Debut the team is in the final phases of getting the space ready and is already lining up vendors and furnishings.
What to Expect
Hunt said Songbirds is designed to be a home base for music lovers and independent artists, with regular live music and other music-oriented events.
In addition to performances, the Hunts plan to offer resources for artists, including video and photo support, potential partnership opportunities with the bar, and mentorship on music-business topics such as legal considerations for independent artists, she told Business Debut.
Menu and Vision
During the day, Songbirds plans to operate as a coffee bar, then transition into a wine bar and music venue later in the day. Hunt said the wine selection will include a range of offerings, with an emphasis on smaller producers, including some local and Black-owned brands. Hunt described the goal as creating “good vibes” and a welcoming space that can appeal to a broad audience while centering music and artistic community, she told Business Debut.
Ashley Hunt is a musician herself and a Season 20 contestant on American Idol. She also shared on Instagram that her music is also slated to be featured in the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Opening Timeline
The Hunts are aiming to open between March and April. Hunt said the team expects to hold auditions ahead of opening night, with plans to feature independent artists and possibly some well-known local performers.
Hours
Songbirds plans to be open seven days a week. Hunt said coffee service is expected to run 7 a.m.–3 p.m., with a separate partner operating the coffee program and pairing it with doughnuts from a local shop to be announced.
Hunt told Business Debut the venue is expected to operate until 12 a.m. (midnight) Monday through Friday, until 1 a.m. Saturday, and until 11 p.m. Sunday.
