Multi-Country Asian Dining Coming to Deerfield Beach

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL - X7 Eatery is targeting a May opening at 1400 E Hillsboro Blvd, Unit 101, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441, bringing a multi-country Asian dining concept to Broward County. Owner Jiaren “Chef Carlos” Zheng told Business Debut the timing depends on final city permits, but the team is planning for a May debut.

The 25-seat restaurant will mark Zheng’s third concept, following a ramen shop and a sushi bar in Miami.

What to Expect

X7 Eatery is designed as a casual, relaxed space offering cuisine from seven Asian countries under one roof. Guests can expect menu influences from Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese and other Asian cuisines, including sushi, Korean fried chicken and Japanese-style sandwiches.

“It’s very good for a family that come. They don’t have to fight through what they want,” Zheng told Business Debut, explaining that the variety allows groups to order across cuisines in one visit.

Service is expected to be casual, with the potential for counter ordering, QR code ordering or a hybrid model as the team finalizes operations.

Beer, wine and sake will also be available.

Menu and Vision

Menu highlights will include five-grade Japanese wagyu, dry-aged selections and handmade dumplings, which Zheng cited among his personal favorites.

Zheng is widely known as “Chef Carlos,” a nickname that reflects his multicultural background. Born in China and raised in Peru before moving to Miami, he adopted the Spanish name Carlos during his time in Peru. His culinary perspective is influenced by both Nikkei (Japanese-Peruvian) and Chifa (Chinese-Peruvian) traditions.

“I come from fine dining industry,” Zheng told Business Debut, noting that while the restaurant will focus on quality ingredients and technique, he aims to keep pricing approachable for the community.

Joining him as partner is Chef JHF, also known as Johnny Hong Kong, who previously worked in fine dining Italian and French cuisine in New York. A third partner will focus on marketing.

Zheng said he chose Deerfield Beach to help expand dining options in Broward County and to share his culture with the community.

The team is targeting a May opening, pending final approvals from the city.

X7 Eatery plans to open daily from 11 a.m. - 2 or 3 a.m., with potential breakfast offerings to be announced.
