Muddy River Tavern Opening in Yadkinville This October
Fresh microbrews, burgers, and steaks will highlight the menu at Muddy River Tavern, opening in October.

YADKINVILLE, NC – Muddy River Tavern, a new tavern and brewery concept, is preparing to open its doors this fall in Yadkinville, NC at 121 S Monroe St, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Co-owner James Kent shared that they are anticipating opening on October 24.
Brewery & Tavern Food with a Southern Flair
The focus of the new venture is its in-house microbrewery. The staff will create smaller batches on-site, allowing guests to enjoy fresh, locally made beverage beers. “We’re not designed for distribution; this is an in-house brewery for our guests to enjoy,” Kent explained.
Muddy River Tavern plan to serve traditional tavern fare, of the burger-wing-fries kind, but with a Southern twist. There will also be steaks and special events like shrimp night or others themed around a particular occasion dish or cocktail.
The tavern will have a full liquor bar.
Ownership and Community Roots
The Muddy River Tavern is owned by James Kent, Thomas Dorsett, and Nolan Brown. The group has been developing the concept for nearly three years, working through everything from space planning to brewery setup.
The name reflects the Yadkin River, nick-named the Muddy River, which circumvents the county. The ownership team wanted their business to carry that same sense of familiarity and connection to the area.
Operating Hours and Atmosphere
The tavern will operate six days a week, opening at 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on weekdays, with extended hours on the weekends. On Saturdays and Sundays, the tavern will start serving earlier to cater to late lunches and the post-church crowd.
