ASHEBORO, NC – A Mediterranean food truck is taking the leap to a permanent home in downtown Asheboro. Mr. Kofta, owned by Maddie and Habib Akhtar, is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 419 S Fayetteville St, Asheboro, NC 27203, this November, according to Maddie, who spoke with Business Debut.

What’s on the Menu

Mr. Kofta will continue to serve Mediterranean halal favorites, like lamb, chicken, and kofta gyros. Because their new restaurant has a larger kitchen and more equipment, the Akhtars may expand their menu.

Closing the Food Truck

The Akhtars will stop running the food truck once the new location opens, allowing them to focus on the restaurant. “It's just me and my husband, so it's not feasible for us to keep the truck because we are very short-handed anyways,” Akhtar said.

Opening Hours

Once open, Mr. Kofta will operate as a takeout restaurant. Specific opening hours and days will be announced closer to the official launch.
