Monte Pizza Opening This Month in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Monte Pizza is targeting an opening within the next two to three weeks this October at 5859 54th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710, owner Giacomo Monte told Business Debut.

The restaurant will feature a wood-fired oven visible from the dining area, baking traditional Italian pizzas such as Margherita, Capricciosa, and Prosciutto Arugula. Guests can also expect creative options like Nutella dessert pizza.

The concept will operate in a casual, self-service style with 16 seats inside and another six outdoors. Customers will be able to enjoy pizzas served on wooden plates in the dining area or order to-go. Italian wine and beer may be introduced at a later date.

Monte, who is originally from Italy, previously owned Monte Gelato in Orlando, specializing in fresh gelato made with imported ingredients.

“I want to bring the real Italian experience here,” Monte told Business Debut. “My recipe is a little more crispy than traditional Neapolitan, but I use flour and machines from Italy and all the techniques I learned back home.”

Monte Pizza is located in a neighborhood shopping center that also includes a barbershop and a burger restaurant. Inside, guests will find Italian décor inspired by Venice, Milan, and Rome, accented with Italian flags to create an authentic atmosphere.

Monte Pizza is expected to open by late October 2025.

The restaurant plans to operate seven days a week:

• Monday through Thursday: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
• Sunday: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
