ORLANDO, FL — Mochiry Orlando, a fast-casual dessert and snack concept focused on Korean-style mochi doughnuts and drinks, is planning to open in downtown Orlando in mid-January, franchise owner Muhammad Jalil told Business Debut.

The restaurant will be located at 20 South Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801.

What to Expect

Mochiry Orlando will offer a counter-service experience with limited indoor seating, targeting customers looking for a quick stop or a place to sit briefly with coffee and a snack. The space is approximately 2,100 square feet and is expected to include about 6 tables for guests.

The concept is designed to appeal to students, downtown workers, and customers ordering takeout or delivery. Jalil said the format is intentionally simple and clean, with an emphasis on grab-and-go service.

The menu will center on Korean-style mochi doughnuts, Korean corn dogs, boba tea, boba coffee drinks, and other specialty coffees. The location will also serve ramen noodles as part of its food offerings.

Jalil said he was drawn to the concept after visiting another franchise location in Gainesville and seeing students using the space for studying while enjoying coffee and doughnuts.

“It’s very light food, clean, and not too much work,” he told Business Debut, adding that the environment felt approachable and easy to manage.

Ownership

The business is owned by Muhammad Jalil, who is opening Mochiry Orlando as his first restaurant under the Mochiry franchise. Jalil has prior experience working in food-related businesses and said he was looking for a small, manageable investment.

Jalil said the business will be owned and operated by himself and his wife, Hasibun Jalil, who will also be part of the ownership going forward.

Opening Timeline

The team is targeting a mid-January opening, with a goal of around January 15. Jalil said the timeline depends on final licensing and inspections.

Hours

Mochiry Orlando plans to be open seven days a week. Initial target hours are 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., with the possibility of later hours on weekends depending on customer demand.
