ATLANTA, GA — Wyld Bird, a new concept from operators Thomas Syfan and business partner Tony Seichrist, is targeting a mid-February opening at 968 Memorial Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30316, operating out of Home Grown’s space for dinner service. Syfran and Seichrist are the owners of The Wyld Dock Bar in Savannah.

What to Expect

Syfan said the idea is for Wyld Bird to function as a completely different, full-service concept in the evenings, after Home Grown completes its breakfast-and-lunch service. In an interview with Business Debut, he described it as an “evening addition,” noting that Home Grown “closes at 2 pm,” creating an opportunity to bring a new dinner experience into the space.

The concept’s food direction ties back to Seichrist’s background. “My business partner Tony grew up in Miami,” Syfan said, explaining that those roots helped shape Wyld Bird’s flavor profile and overall approach to chicken.

On the menu, Syfan said the team is building around bone-in chicken and the kind of rice-and-beans pairing he associates with Miami’s fast, flavorful chicken spots, while putting their own execution on it. The chicken is brined for about a day, then seasoned again before it’s cooked over charcoal and finished in the oven with a mix that includes pineapple juice, chicken stock, and orange juice.

Beyond the chicken plates, Syfan said they’ve discussed a chicken sandwich and additional items meant to round out the experience without turning it into a massive menu. Expect sides like plantain chips, guacamole, and more.

Atmosphere

Because Wyld Bird will be sharing a dining room that many guests know as a daytime breakfast-and-lunch spot, Syfan said the team plans to shift the feel at night. He talked about adding colored lighting, bringing in Wyld Bird signage, and leaning into different music and cocktails to make the evening service feel distinct.

“Obviously the vibe and the music will be different,” he said. He also noted plans to refresh the patio setup for evening service.

Opening Timeline

Syfan said they’re aiming for the second week of February, with the liquor license as a key final step before opening.

Wyld Bird expects to start service Wednesday through Sunday, opening around 5:30 pm, with closing time still being finalized — likely around 10 pm on weekdays and later on weekends.
