Mariah’s Taco Spot Expanding to Brick-and-Mortar in Charlotte
The popular food truck is opening its first restaurant in Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood by the end of October.

CHARLOTTE, NC – Mariah’s Taco Spot is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 4100 Raleigh St, Charlotte, NC 28213, in the NoDa neighborhood. Axios reported on the plans for the restaurant last year, highlighting the brand’s growth from a food truck to a full-fledged restaurant. Owner Mariah Brown shared with Business Debut that the grand opening is anticipated by the end of October 2025.
Fast Casual with a Crafty Twist
The upcoming location will be fast casual, offering a comfortable 32-seat space in a 1,428-square-foot space designed for quick dining.
Brown’s Taco Spot will also feature a bar with a limited tequila selection, crafted margaritas and bottled beer. The brick-and-mortar menu will expand on the food truck offerings, keeping top sellers like Oxtail Tacos, their tacos and wings combos, while adding items such as nachos and other popular dishes. New items include desserts like strawberry crunch churros and cookies. The restaurant will also host weekly events featuring live DJs.
While the exact schedule is still being finalized, the restaurant plans to operate six days a week. Brown emphasized maintaining the food truck operations even after the brick-and-mortar opens.
From Apartment to Food Truck to Restaurant
Brown has been steadily growing her business for the past five years. Her Taco Spot began in 2020 during the pandemic, with tacos sold out of Brown’s two-bedroom apartment.
From there, the brand expanded into a ghost kitchen and eventually launched a food truck. “From the apartment, I opened up a ghost kitchen, and then from the ghost kitchen, we expanded to the food truck. Our intentions are to keep opening up more locations,” Brown said.
“I highly encourage people to start where they are,” Brown shared. “Our ghost kitchen route was cost-effective and helped us establish our business and brand before going bigger.”
