Margarita Island Replacing Azteca D'Oro in New Smyrna Beach
A new restaurant is coming into the space that Azteca D'Oro vacated earlier this year.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL — Margarita Island Mexican Kitchen and Bar is expanding to New Smyrna Beach, taking over the former Azteca D’Oro restaurant at 1960 FL-44, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168, owner Elizabeth Sanchez Oliveros told Business Debut. The team is remodeling the longtime Mexican restaurant space and targeting a late January opening, with an exact date to be announced.
This will be the fifth Margarita Island location since the brand’s debut in 2022, following their most recently opening in Ormond Beach in May.
What to Expect
The New Smyrna Beach restaurant will offer a full bar and seating for about 180 guests. The interior is being refreshed to mirror the brand’s existing locations, with a modern, tropical-inspired atmosphere and a similar overall layout.
Menu and Vision
Margarita Island New Smyrna Beach will feature the same menu served at the other locations, including Mexican dishes, margaritas and a full bar program. “We are going to have the same menu, same drinks and the same vibe,” Sanches Oliveros told Business Debut.
Lunch and dinner will be available daily, with weekend brunch planned as well.
Opening Timeline
Remodeling work is underway now, updating the former Azteca D’ Oro space after that restaurant’s closure a couple of months ago. The team is targeting the last week of January for opening, but the specific date is still to be announced.
Hours
Margarita Island plans to operate seven days a week. Current plans call for opening around 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., and closing at 11 p.m. on the weekends.
