Welcome back to Florida Food and Beverage Weekly's restaurant roundup! We've kept our ear to the ground for the past week to turn up Florida's newest restaurant developments, and now you can scroll through and find out what is in the works for your city.

DADE COUNTY

Grand Cake Cafe

A new bakery and sandwich shop is in the early stages of development in Homestead. Owner Carmen Guzman told FFBW that Grand Cake Cafe is going to serve your classic baked goods like cakes and other desserts, along with sandwiches.

Guzman doesn't have a location locked down yet, and an opening date is unknown.


Mamma Dora's Pizzeria

The Dadeland mall is due for a new pizzeria, according to co-owner Carlos Ortiz. Mamma Dora's Pizzeria is planning to open sometime this fall, in either September or October. Ortiz reports that they have received their equipment and are now gearing up to do some interior work to the building.

Bahia Seafood Miami

A new mobile food business is about to open in Miami, co-owner Eduardo Gil Carta told FFBW. Bahia Seafood Miami is a catering, ghost kitchen, and private chef concept that is slated to open a food truck soon. You can see photos of their appetizing dishes on their Instagram.

Carta reports that they will open the food truck on the 1st of August.

BROWARD COUNTY

BB.Q Chicken

A new Korean fried chicken spot is about to make its debut in the Miami area, owner Lydia Ho told FFBW. BB.Q Chicken is a franchise that started in Seoul, South Korea. It has a few locations around the state of Florida. However, according to Ho, this will be the first unit in South Florida.

She doesn't have an opening timeline as of now, as her restaurant is still under construction. Find it at: 6370 Griffin Rd, Davie, FL 33314.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

Alacruz Grill

A new concept is in the works for Wellington, according to co-owner Alejandro Copley. As of now, details are slim for Alacruz Grill and Copley hasn't provided an opening date yet.

The official business name is Alacruz Grill, LLC, and they will be located at: 11924 Forest Hill Blvd 24 25, Wellington, FL 33414.

ORANGE COUNTY

Reel Bowls

A new Hawaiian poke spot is opening in Orlando soon, owner Tony McFarr told FFBW. Reel Bowls was originally located near Disney, but McFarr decided to sell that location and open in a different spot at 8685 Fenton St, Orlando, FL 32836.

The build-your-own-bowl concept is planned to open September 1st. McFarr, who was a stunt double, based on the name on fishing reels and reels of film. He told FFBW that he did stunt work in Hawaii, where the cuisine is from.


Malubianbian Hot Pot

A new Hot Pot restaurant is inbound to West Colonial, owner Bo Yang told FFBW. Malubiabian has a tentative opening date of September 1st. As far as we can tell, there isn't a website or social media page set up for it yet.

BREVARD COUNTY

Delicias Conchita

Authentic Mexican food and desserts are about to appear in Melbourne, co-owner Hilario Martinez told FFBW. Delicias Conchita is nearing their opening date, Martinez said, and they are hoping for the end of the month.

They will serve Mexican cuisine, snacks, and milk and water based ice cream and more. Take a look at their menu on the website.

SUMTER COUNTY

Marco's Pizza

Seasoned franchisee Pete Hiles is bringing several more locations of Marco's Pizza to the famed Villages community. Hiles told FFBW that his newest location has been a year in the making, and he plans to open toward the end of the summer. This location will be at: 2194 Everglades Ln., Wildwood, FL 34785. Hiles expects this to be a high-volume location.

Additionally, Hiles is looking at opening two more locations within the Villages. An timeline for these units is unknown.

Hiles has been a long standing pizza franchisee. He got his start by opening the first Dominoes in the United Kingdom. Now, he forms partnerships with restaurant managers by providing them training, mentorship, and funding to open their own Marco's franchises.

POLK COUNTY

Dawson's Eatery

A new fast casual restaurant is in the works for the Lakeland area, co-owner Ronnie Dawson told FFBW. Dawson's Eatery will serve fried food, Dawson said. He didn't have any more info to share about the cuisine.

An opening date isn't available yet. Dawson is in the process of finding a building to operate his business out of.

PINELLAS COUNTY

Bravo New York Pizzeria

A new pizza spot is inbound to Palm Harbor, co-owner Michael Assante told FFBW. Bravo New York Pizzeria is planning to open in the next couple of months. Assante said that they will be serving high quality New York style pizza, using top shelf ingredients to make their pies.

M & T Southern Bites

A new mobile food operation is underway in the Clearwater area, according to owner Terea Zimmer of M & T Concessions, LLC. Zimmer told FFBW that she is rolling out a total of three concepts, and each will be serving three different cuisines. One will offer barbecue, the other: pizza, and the last providing southern comfort foods.

The first trailer is set to roll out soon. Zimmer said that it will be the barbecue trailer, but it will also easily convert into baking pizzas too. She is waiting on licensing to be cleared, and then she will open.

MANATEE COUNTY

Rise N Grind Coffee Co

A new coffee slinging food trailer is coming to the Bradenton area soon, co-owner Daniel Ledford told FFBW. The mobile coffee business will serve specialty coffees to start, and they may expand into small food items eventually.

Ledford told FFBW that they are hoping to open in September. As of now, they don't have a web presence.


The Food Lady

A new food trailer is inbound to the Bradenton area soon, owner Alma Velez told FFBW. She will serve Mexican food, like birria tacos and other staples. The trailer is built out, and she is waiting to pass inspections and to be granted licenses.

Velez told us that she is hoping to open in early September.
