Mama Lin’s Chicken Delight and Honey Bubble to Open in Atlanta
Fried chicken sandwiches and freshly brewed bubble tea highlight a new Atlanta dual-concept debuting at Madison Yards.

ATLANTA, GA – The owners of Mama Lin's Chicken Delight and Honey Bubble Tea are set to open a new dual-branded location at 935 Memorial Drive, Atlanta, GA 30316, within the Madison Yards project. Co-owner Douglas Hines told Business Debut that they plan to open the restaurant in the first or second week of November, awaiting permit approvals and construction.
The new space, approximately 2,000 square feet with about 15 seats, will primarily serve dine-in and takeout. Unlike many fast-casual spots, Mama Lin's Chicken Delight and Honey Bubble Tea will not offer delivery through DoorDash or Uber Eats. Instead, they will focus on dine-in and takeout service.
A Dual Concept with Atlanta Roots
Hines and his wife, executive chef Mei Lin, created Honey Bubble Tea more than twelve years ago in Atlanta. Known for brewing fresh green, black, and Thai teas rather than relying on powders, Honey Bubble built a strong reputation in the city as a quality-driven bubble tea brand. “The difference with Honey Bubble has always been that we brew our bubble tea from fresh tea leaves, which is not something that any other bubble tea shops do,” Hines explained.
The second half of the concept, Mama Lin's Chicken Delight, stems from a recipe passed down from Lin’s mother. Lin, also the executive chef at the fine dining restaurant The Consulate, refined her mother’s fried chicken sandwich recipe into a one-item-focused menu. “Everybody says that basically it was the best chicken sandwich they’ve ever had,” Hines said.
The pared-down menu will include:
- Signature fried chicken breast sandwich with Asian-inspired five or six flavor profiles, such as Caribbean jerk, Korean-style variations, and more.
- Tornado potato, a spiral-cut deep-fried potato topped with various seasonings.
- Freshly brewed bubble tea, continuing Honey Bubble’s tradition of using high-quality tea leaves.
About the Owners
Hines and his wife are also behind Honeywell and The Consulate, a fine dining restaurant in Midtown Atlanta that has operated for nine years. With Honey Bubble already established as a local favorite, the couple is now blending the two culinary inspirations, Taiwanese bubble tea and Lin’s family chicken recipe, into one fast-casual space at Madison Yards.
Opening Hours
The restaurant's planned operating hours start from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., seven days a week. Stay tuned for updates and social media that may drop near the launch date.
