Luella Taking Over the Two-Story Ivy Buckhead Space

When the long-standing Ivy Buckhead closed in December of last year, Jamey and Benjie Shirah of Revival Restaurant Group hinted at a new concept they were already working on for the space. Since then, Business Debut has been keeping a lookout for updates, which were recently shared via press release and a brief phone interview with Jamey Shirah.

Luella—named after the Shirah brothers’ children—will bring a fine-dining experience to the former bar and nightlife venue at 3717 Roswell Rd, Atlanta, GA 30342.

On the ground floor, expect a residential-inspired design, complete with paneled walls, hand-painted wallpapers, custom furnishings, and curated art. The menu will feature prime wood-fired steaks, hand-cut pastas, fresh seafood, and globally inspired shareable plates. The beverage program will include an exceptional wine list, rare spirits, and classic cocktails, according to the press release.

The release quotes Shirah’s design philosophy: “Coming out of the pandemic era, when we all spent a lot of time in our own homes, we have come to appreciate the value of bringing residential design to commercial spaces, something we’ve termed ‘cresidential,’” said Jamey. “We want our restaurants to be high-end, but more importantly, our guests to be comfortable... to feel at home when they’re with us.”

Anyone familiar with The Ivy knows the space features a sizable upstairs area that housed its own bar. That second-floor space, Shirah shared, will eventually become a private, members-only club with a distinct name and menu, operating under the Luella brand umbrella.

This feature will follow the Luella’s debut, which is expected to open this fall.
