Lucky 8 Luncheonette Opening in Sarasota November 29th
The New Orleans-inspired eatery will serve po’ boys, gumbo, and more in a speakeasy-style diner setting.
Lucky 8 Luncheonette, a New Orleans-inspired eatery, is set to open in Sarasota this week at 1812 S Osprey Ave, Sarasota, FL 34239, owner Mark Majorie shared with Business Debut. According to their Instagram, they will open just after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 29th.
Majorie, who hails from New Orleans, moved to the area to open Veronica Fish & Oysters in Sarasota. He noticed the space on South Osprey Avenue become available and said that opening Lucky 8 there was a "no brainer." Majorie is partnered with Edward Zaki of 1592 Wood Fired Kitchen & Cocktails to bring the restaurant to Sarasota.
The menu will feature classic dishes like po’ boys, gumbo, and red beans and rice, alongside other staples of New Orleans cuisine. The full-service restaurant will accommodate 60 guests, including 48 seats inside with bar, counter, and booth seating, and an additional 12 seats outside. Lucky 8 Luncheonette will also offer a selection of beer and wine.
Operating hours will be Monday through Saturday from 11 am - 8 pm, with the restaurant closed on Sundays initially. The design will reflect a speakeasy-era diner ambiance, Majorie said.
Lucky 8 Luncheonette aims to provide Sarasota with a taste of New Orleans culture and cuisine in a casual setting. Follow them on Instagram and be sure to check them out once they open November 29th!
