Local BBQ Spot Moving to a Larger Location in Marion
Smoke a 'Lil Smoke started as a food truck, and is now moving into a 200+ seat restaurant space.
MARION, NC — Smoke a 'Lil Smoke is preparing to move into a larger space at 861 N Main St, Marion, NC 28752 as owners John Phipps and Connor Davis transition the business to a full-service model.
Currently, the brand is operating at: 28 E Henderson St, Marion, NC 28752, and will transition to their new Main Street space as soon as they receive approvals to commence business.
What to Expect
The new location is a significant expansion from Smoke a 'Lil Smoke’s current setup. Phipps and Davis said the restaurant is moving from 21 total seats to roughly 200 seats, including their own private parking lot.
Service will also change with the move. “We’re going to be switching to having servers,” they told Business Debut, shifting from a model where guests order and then sit.
Menu and Vision
Smoke a Lil Smoke plans to open the new space with its current barbecue menu, with updates to come later. Phipps and Davis said they have discussed adding new sides and a few new entrees, but nothing has been finalized yet.
Opening Timeline
Phipps and Davis said they are close to the finish line and are working on staffing, but an opening date has not been set.
The move is pending approval from the health department following inspection.
Hours
Once staffing is in place, the restaurant is planning to operate seven days a week. Planned hours are 11 a.m.—9 p.m.
