Las Mas Mexican Food & Cantina Opening Soon in Wake Forest

A remodeled space is being transformed into a full-service Mexican restaurant and cantina.

WAKE FOREST, NC — Las Mas Mexican Food & Cantina is targeting an opening in about two weeks at 111 S. White Street Suite B, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Owner Jose Roman Visoso told Business Debut the restaurant has remodeled and renovated the former Las Margaritas space, which had operated there for 24 years.

What to Expect

Las Mas Mexican Food & Cantina will be a full-service Mexican restaurant and cantina with a capacity of 98 guests, Visoso told Business Debut.

He said the team has spent about two years preparing the rebrand and renovation, with major structural changes throughout the space. Visoso said the updated restaurant is designed to keep some of the character of the historic district setting while introducing a more modern look.

He described the atmosphere as having an “old world” feel with wood finishes and a bar-forward layout, he told Business Debut.

The menu will keep many of the items longtime customers may recognize while expanding into more traditional Mexican dishes and street food, Visoso told Business Debut.

He said guests can expect staples such as fajitas alongside more traditional offerings. Among the menu additions, Visoso told Business Debut the restaurant plans to serve a wider range of tacos, including beef tongue, chorizo, steak and fish, as well as dishes such as mole poblano.

He said the goal is to offer better drinks at the bar and use quality ingredients in the food.

Opening Timeline

Visoso told Business Debut the team is targeting an opening in about two weeks. He said the project marks a full rebrand of the former Las Margaritas location into Las Mas Mexican Food & Cantina.
