Lady Lake, FL Getting a New Diner
Darrell's Diner will offer classic Southern breakfast and lunch dishes, with dinner service planned to follow.
LADY LAKE, FL — Darrell’s Diner is preparing to open its 25th location at 1124 Teague Trail, Lady Lake, FL 32159, with a tentative opening date of January 19, owner Darrell Warden told Business Debut. The new restaurant marks a milestone for the Florida-based breakfast-and-lunch brand and introduces several elements not found at most existing locations.
The Lady Lake restaurant follows the recent opening of another Darrell’s Diner in Wildwood, which opened in late December. Together, the two locations reflect the brand’s continued expansion across Central Florida.
What to Expect
Darrell’s Diner is known for its homestyle, Southern-focused breakfast and lunch menu served in a full-service, family-friendly setting. Guests can expect made-from-scratch biscuits and gravy, omelets, pancakes, waffles, and the brand’s signature “Mountain Scrambler,” which features a biscuit topped with sausage, eggs, gravy, and cheese.
The Lady Lake space will seat about 65 guests in the dining room, with total seating exceeding 100 when including the adjoining bingo hall area.
Menu and Vision
What sets this location apart is the planned addition of Darrell’s Southern Kitchen, an evening service concept that will roll out after opening. The dinner menu will focus on traditional Southern comfort dishes such as cabbage, macaroni and cheese, meatloaf, and pork chops.
“This is something we’re looking to do at a couple of locations,” Warden told Business Debut, noting that the new Wildwood restaurant will also feature the Southern Kitchen concept in the evenings.
A Diner and Bingo Hall Under One Roof
The Lady Lake location will also be combined with an on-site bingo hall, making it unique within the Darrell’s Diner portfolio. The diner will be open to and serve the bingo hall directly, allowing guests to dine and play in the same space.
Warden said bingo operations will include daytime and evening sessions, with more details to be announced. The brand already has experience in this area, with an existing bingo hall operating in Ocala.
Brand History
Darrell’s Diner was founded in 2009 after Warden pitched the idea of a simple, community-focused diner to his longtime employer and business partner, Lawrence Breech. Breech backed the concept from the beginning, supporting its growth from the first location on Silver Springs Boulevard in Ocala to now 25 restaurants.
“We just wanted a small, local, family-friendly diner with simple, home-cooked food,” Warden said, adding that the focus from the beginning was on consistency, approachability, and making guests feel at home rather than building a complicated concept.
Opening Timeline
The Lady Lake Darrell’s Diner is targeting a January 19 opening.
Hours
The restaurant will be open seven days a week, opening at 7 a.m. Initially, it will close at 3 p.m., with plans to extend hours to 8 or 9 p.m. once dinner service begins.
