LAKE WALES, FL – Lady B’s Tea Parlour is preparing to bring an elegant taste of England to downtown Lake Wales. Located at 205 E Stuart Ave, Lake Wales, FL 33853, the new tea parlour is the vision of co-owners Jessica Bray and Deborah Partlow. The duo plans to open officially in early November, Bray confirmed with Business Debut. We came across the story first in What Now.

The site is in the middle of the newly revitalized historic downtown area of Lake Wales. The owners thanked the city for its help, which included a grant that supported the interior setup.

Lady B's Tea Parlour will serve as an English-style afternoon tea parlour. It will have 32 seats, tablecloths, and lace decorations to offer a full-service experience. The tea room will be open from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The other three days will be available for special events to accommodate larger groups when the venue is less busy.

Food and Beverage Offerings

The menu will highlight traditional afternoon tea service with three distinct tiers: luncheon tea, cream tea with scones, and sweet tea selections. Guests can order a full experience or individual tiers.

Additional offerings will include:

  • Chicken crepes cordon bleu with ham, Swiss cheese, and cream sauce
  • Chicken salad on butter croissants
  • Shrimp Louis with remoulade over avocado slices
  • House-smoked alderwood salmon platter with black bread, onion, horseradish sauce, and cream cheese
  • Caesar salad as a regular item
  • Seasonal soups, salads, and daily specials

As a French-trained baker, Bray is especially excited to showcase elegant desserts made in-house. “I have real love for my little desserts and even making them,” she said. “We sell something that looks pretty and tastes wonderful too.”

A Taste of England in Lake Wales

Both Bray and Partlow’s backgrounds inspired the concept. Partlow grew up in England, where her family had been residing for several years, and she fell in love with the country's culture. Bray worked for 18 months in England before retiring and returning to Florida. She had previously started a French café in Lake Wales, influenced by her time in Paris.

Longtime tea lovers, the two friends and business partners sought to recreate the authentic tea experiences they had while traveling overseas. “We decided what we wanted to do was to open something that would be serving traditional social teas,” Bray shared. “It’s a beautiful kind of an English-style afternoon tea parlour where we're we're going to use traditional recipes and show them in a very pretty, elegant kind of manner.”
