ALACHUA, FL - Nori Nite is targeting a May opening at 14960 Main St, Alachua, FL 32615, bringing a sushi and Laotian fusion concept to the area. Owner Oulay Inthalangsy confirmed the plans during a recent interview with Business Debut.

What to Expect

Nori Nite will offer a fusion of Japanese sushi and Laotian cuisine. Inthalangsy, who has more than 10 years of experience making sushi, said he wanted to return to the restaurant industry after seven years working as a firefighter.

The 2,800-square-foot space is expected to seat approximately 120 guests. Inthalangsy also plans to offer beer, wine and Japanese-style cocktails.

Laotian cuisine will be gradually introduced to the menu, giving guests an opportunity to experience flavors that are less common in the area. “I want to make people around here get to know Laotian food a little bit more,” he told Business Debut.

The menu will feature a range of sushi offerings alongside traditional Laotian dishes. Laotian food is known for its balance of salty and spicy flavors, with sticky rice serving as a staple.

One highlighted dish is larb, a minced beef dish prepared with mint, chili and spices. “It tastes really good,” Inthalangsy told Business Debut.

Inthalangsy moved from Laos to Florida in 2017, first living in Tampa before relocating to the Gainesville area. Nori Nite will mark his first restaurant as an owner.

Opening Timeline

The restaurant is targeting an early to mid-May opening.

Hours

Nori Nite plans to operate Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant will be closed on Mondays.
