Island Seafood Market and Oyster Bar Opening in Upper Westside Market
Expect 100+ oyster varieties to be available.
ATLANTA, GA — Island Seafood Market and Oyster Bar is planning to open at Upper Westside Market at 1385 Collier Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Owner Ingram Boykins told Business Debut the concept will combine a seafood market with a dedicated raw oyster bar focused exclusively on oysters.
Featuring over 100 varieties of oysters daily, Boykins expects Island Seafood Market and Oyster Bar to have the largest oyster selection in the world.
The business follows years of mobile seafood sales and pop-ups around metro Atlanta farmers markets.
What to Expect
Island Seafood Market and Oyster Bar will feature two components under one concept. One side will operate as a seafood market where guests can purchase fresh seafood to take home and cook themselves.
Next to the market, the oyster bar will offer a sit-down experience centered entirely on oysters and chilled seafood platters. Boykins said the bar is designed to be an intimate space where guests can enjoy oysters while watching sports or having drinks within the market.
Menu and Vision
The concept focuses almost entirely on oysters. Boykins said the bar aims to feature more than 100 varieties of oysters on ice daily sourced from regions across the United States and Canada.
“We’re going to open up a true oyster bar,” Boykins told Business Debut. “There’s no wings, there’s no burgers, there’s no french fries. There’s no steaks, there’s no salads — it’s just all oysters.”
The seafood market portion will allow customers to purchase fresh fish and other seafood to prepare at home. Boykins said the concept is rooted in the brand’s original approach of teaching customers how to cook quality seafood themselves.
Opening Timeline
An opening timeline has not yet been announced.
Island Seafood previously operated through pop-ups and farmers markets around metro Atlanta, including locations in Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, and Snellville. The Upper Westside Market location will represent the brand’s move into a permanent brick-and-mortar space.
