Holcomb’s Seafood and Meats Opening First Store in Hastings

HASTINGS, FL – Holcomb's Seafood & Meats is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 415 N. Main Street, Hastings, FL 32145, with an opening target in the second or third week of October. The business is owned by the husband-and-wife team of Jeremy and Megan Holcomb. The business started as a roadside shrimp stand and has now grown to become a provider of seafood and meat across North Florida.

“We started in 2007 as a roadside stand, just selling shrimp. By 2014, my wife pushed me to try sales through Facebook groups, and I thought it was not going to work, and she proved me wrong,” Jeremy Holcomb told Business Debut.

A Seafood and Meats Specialty Market

Holcomb's Seafood & Meats will be a walk-in grocery store specializing in seafood and meat products. Customers have the option to purchase fresh and frozen seafood, including shrimp, fish, oysters, clams, mussels, and snow crab. The Holcombs aim to expand their offering to a full range of beef, pork, and poultry products, from steaks and roasts to ground meats.

The store will also feature approximately 24 feet of display cases for several product lines, including the seafood, beef, pork, and poultry sections, alongside some upright fridges and freezers. Grocers can find a variety of grocery essentials, sauces, grab-and-go meals, and house-made products, including chowders, beef stock, and seafood stock.

A Family-Run Legacy

The new Hastings storefront marks the Holcombs’ first permanent location, following years of serving customers via retail route delivery across Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Putnam, Volusia, and Flagler counties. Instead of home delivery, Holcomb explained, “We don't provide direct home delivery. We meet in a central place near their neighborhood in all of those counties, and everybody picks up at once.”

The couple’s children are also part of the family business, often assisting with route operations and now preparing to support the new store. “We've had customers all the way from the roadside to now, and now with the brick and mortar, we can offer more,” Holcomb shared.

Once open, Holcomb’s Seafood & Meats will welcome customers Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The business will remain closed on Sundays.
