WILMINGTON, NC — Nil’s Mediterranean Cuisine is planning to open at 114 Market St, Wilmington, NC 28401 in the former PinPoint space in downtown Wilmington, owner Tan Uckan told Business Debut. The team is targeting the first week of March, pending health department permits.

What to Expect

Uckan said the restaurant will launch with a “smooth transition” approach, keeping changes simple at first to open sooner. The team plans to refresh branding, add artwork and lighting updates, and then consider a larger renovation later, potentially during a slower season.

Nil’s will operate as a full-service restaurant with a full bar, with seating for about 110 to 120 guests, Uckan said.

The brand has two well established locations in Fuquay-Varina and one in Angier, NC. This is their first time branding out as far as Wilmington.

Uckan said Nil’s is a modern, health-oriented Mediterranean concept focused on olive oil-based dishes, vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, and portions meant to feel satisfying without leaving guests feeling overly heavy.

“We are trying to reach out for the healthy eaters,” Uckan told Business Debut.

The menu will include Mediterranean staples such as bowls, hummus, pita, shakshuka, falafel, seafood options, salads and more, served at prices Uckan described as approachable, with many dishes expected to fall in an $8 to $35 range.

Opening Timeline

Uckan said the team has completed interior painting and is waiting on health department approvals before final decorating and opening. The goal is the first week of March, with the possibility of opening sooner depending on permitting.

Hours

Uckan said the initial plan is six days a week, with lunch and dinner service. Proposed hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. — 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. — 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. — 8 p.m., with the option to reassess after the first few months.

He said the team is also considering opening Mondays.
