HOBE SOUND, FL — Cadets Family Restaurant is preparing to open its doors in Hobe Sound, bringing traditional Haitian cuisine and family-driven hospitality to the community. The restaurant is targeting a January opening at 8767 SE Bridge Rd., Hobe Sound, FL 33455, owner Farah Cadet told Business Debut.

The restaurant is owned and operated by members of the Cadet family, including Farah Cadet, her father Marcel Cadet, her sister Christina Cadet, Christina’s partner Bobrowslsky Rauzard, and Farah’s husband Ralphny Olinsca. Together, the group is opening its first restaurant with a shared vision rooted in culture, food, and togetherness.

What to Expect

Cadets Family Restaurant will offer a blend of full-service dining and counter service, allowing guests to dine in or order more casually. The dining room will seat approximately 70 guests.

The concept centers on traditional Haitian cuisine and hospitality, with the goal of offering something new to the Hobe Sound area. Cadet said the family wants the restaurant to feel welcoming and distinct, giving guests an experience that reflects Haitian culture from the moment they walk in.

The menu will feature authentic Haitian dishes prepared using traditional methods and flavors. Guests can expect offerings such as griot, a marinated and fried pork dish, and diri ak dyondyon, a black mushroom rice commonly served in Haitian homes.

Additional menu items will include tasso, prepared with fried beef or goat, soup joumou — a pumpkin-based soup traditionally associated with Haitian Independence Day — and pikliz, a spicy pickled vegetable condiment. “We want people to come and enjoy great food, music, and something very different,” Cadet told Business Debut.

Ownership and Family Roots

Cadets Family Restaurant marks the first restaurant venture for the Cadet family, making the opening a significant milestone. The business is fully family-owned, with each partner playing a role in bringing the concept to life.

Cadet said the family was motivated to open the restaurant in part because there are few Caribbean dining options in the area. The goal, she said, is to serve both the local community and those curious to explore Haitian cuisine in a welcoming environment.

Opening Timeline

The family is targeting a January 15 opening, though the date may shift slightly as final preparations continue.

Hours

The restaurant plans to operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. Weekend hours are expected to be 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.
