Grand Opening Durham: $0.99 Wings at Woody's Bar-B-Q on August 29th

Expect music, $5.50 kid's meals, and $.99 wings from 12 - 5 P.M. in Durham.

DURHAM, NC – Woody's Bar-B-Q is preparing a grand opening event at its new location at 3500 N Roxboro St #2, Durham, NC 27704, owner Abby Haywood told Business Debut.

What to Expect

The grand opening event is scheduled for August 29 at the address above. The celebration will run from noon — 5 p.m., with live music throughout the afternoon.

Haywood said the day will feature multiple music acts, including a country band opening from noon — 2 p.m. Bobby C and the Vision Band will perform from 4 — 5:30 p.m., with The Dynamic Duo, featuring vocalist Violet Elaine, scheduled from 2 — 4 p.m.

Woody's will offer 99-cent wings as part of the grand opening, Haywood told Business Debut. Haywood said kids combos, including burgers, hot dogs and tenders, will be available for $5.50.

Woody's Bar-B-Q was founded in Florida in 1980 using recipes from founder Woody's mother. The Durham restaurant joins nine locations in Florida.

Haywood said she signed a development deal to open three Woody's Bar-B-Q locations, with Durham as the first under that agreement. She said a major factor in choosing the brand was its Carolina vinegar-based barbecue option.

"They actually have a sandwich that tastes like authentic vinegar-based barbecue in addition to the red sauces," Haywood told Business Debut.

The menu includes brisket, spare ribs, pulled pork, Carolina-style barbecue with slaw, smoked chicken, turkey and wings. Guests can order plates along with "feasts for two" and "feasts for four." Woody's also offers house-made sauces and seasonings, including signature spice blends and hot sauces. The Durham location will serve beer and wine.
