Good Neighbor Cafe Opening in Cape Canaveral

CAPE CANAVERAL, FL — Good Neighbor Cafe is targeting a June 1 opening at 6290 N Atlantic Ave, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920, where owner Sofia Ross plans to introduce a neighborhood coffee shop designed for both locals and visitors near the cruise port. Ross told Business Debut the concept is meant to feel like “the neighborhood’s living room,” offering specialty coffee drinks, house-made baked goods, and a relaxed place to gather.

Ross is opening the shop alongside partner Brayden Montgomery after renovating the previously abandoned unit herself in preparation for the debut.

What to Expect

Good Neighbor Cafe will focus primarily on coffee, with a full lineup of espresso drinks, cold brew, iced coffee, cappuccinos, and lattes.

One drink Ross is especially excited about is the Dawn Patrol Latte, a brown sugar coconut latte topped with brown sugar cold foam. “I’ve made it a couple times at home and me and my boyfriend... we can’t get enough,” Ross told Business Debut. “It’s delicious.”

The café will feature about 40 seats between indoor seating and a covered outdoor patio surrounded by greenery. Ross said the design will lean into a cozy, beachy 1970s-inspired feel with plants and comfortable spaces where guests can work, relax, or meet friends.

Menu and Vision

Along with coffee drinks, Ross plans a rotating lineup of house-made baked goods and light breakfast options.

Test batches have included triple mocha muffins, pistachio coffee cake, and a kimchi cheddar bay biscuit that Ross said disappeared quickly when she shared it with friends and family.

“We’re going to be focusing on the coffee,” Ross told Business Debut, while also offering breakfast sandwiches such as bacon served on a homemade biscuit.

Ross said the shop is designed to serve both Cape Canaveral residents and the area’s steady flow of cruise passengers and tourists.

Ross told Business Debut she has been passionate about cooking since childhood and previously worked at Starbucks, where she developed her knowledge of coffee. She also gained small business experience helping operate her family’s jewelry stores before launching the café.

Opening Timeline

Ross is targeting a June 1 opening, just in time for the busy summer travel season.

The project has involved extensive hands-on renovation work inside the space as Ross prepares it for the café’s launch.

“I think it’s really going to be a great thing for everybody, somewhere for locals to gather and tourists to come grab a coffee while they enjoy our beautiful beaches,” Ross told Business Debut.

Hours

Initial hours are planned for 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily, with the café closed on Wednesdays. Ross said expanded hours may be considered after opening.
