MOREHEAD CITY, NC — Gino’s Panino is preparing to open in the coming weeks at 907 Arendell St Suite A, Morehead City, NC 28557, as owner Steve Cercone finalizes preparations for the space.

The team is targeting an opening as early as next week, though timing may shift slightly depending on final steps.

What to Expect

Gino’s Panino will operate as an Italian-themed sandwich shop focused on fresh, housemade offerings. The menu will include sandwiches, subs, wraps, paninis, and salads with counter-service ordering and both indoor and outdoor seating available, Cercone told Business Debut.

“A lot of the items are homemade… everything is going to be freshly prepared and made to order,” Cercone told Business Debut.

The space will primarily serve as a takeout concept, with seating for guests who choose to dine on-site.

The menu is rooted in Cercone’s Italian upbringing and decades in the hospitality industry. “I grew up in an Italian family, where food was the centerpiece of all family gatherings,” Cercone told Business Debut. "We want a classic Italian neighborhood deli feel with coastal waterfront charm."

Signature items will include housemade meatball and sausage hoagies, with the sausage recipe passed down from his father. Other highlights include a spicy Italian sub and a Cuban-inspired sandwich featuring smoked pork belly and housemade pickles, Cercone told Business Debut.

In addition to sandwiches, the shop plans to introduce a small retail section with Italian grocery items such as sauces, pastas, and prepared deli selections for take-home purchase.

Opening Timeline

The team is targeting an opening within the coming weeks, with hopes to launch as soon as next week, Cercone told Business Debut.

Hours

Gino’s Panino plans to operate Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. — 7 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. — 8 p.m., with potential adjustments during peak summer season, Cercone told Business Debut.
