Get Fruity Cafe is preparing to open soon in Smyrna, with several more locations in the works, owner Frederick Fox shared with Business Debut. The brand, which originally started in New Jersey and has been based in Atlanta since 2013, offers a health-forward menu of wraps, fruit salads, smoothies, and more.

The newest location will open at 2517 Spring Rd SE #104, Smyrna, GA 30080, with plans to debut on May 28.

Hours will be Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am to 8 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm. The full menu can be viewed online at mygetfruity.com/smryna.

From there, Get Fruity will open another location at 1876 Harvard Ave, College Park, GA 30337. This will be the first franchised brick-and-mortar unit and is expected to open in about a month, Fox said.

Additional expansion plans include a location in Conyers, a debut in an Atlanta-area food hall, and a ghost kitchen in the West Midtown area. The brand also operates from a custom-built food truck designed to look like a French wagon.

Fox started Get Fruity 29 years ago as a college student studying finance. To make extra money, he began delivering fresh fruit salads to local customers and businesses by bicycle.

That side hustle eventually grew into a full-time business, which he relocated to Atlanta in 2013. His first location here was a small 130-square-foot space on Marietta Street, just two blocks from Centennial Park. Fox recalled that the demand from walk-up guests and online orders caused sidewalk traffic issues due to the crowds.

Since then, Get Fruity has expanded into three locations, with Smyrna marking the fourth.

Fox shared that there are six ways entrepreneurs can partner with Get Fruity: franchising a brick-and-mortar, launching a food hall location, operating a food truck or trailer, running a ghost kitchen, opening a kiosk in a mall, or setting up a mobile kiosk at food fairs and festivals.
