Gelato Focused Cafe Concept Coming to Brookhaven

BROOKHAVEN, GA — Larita Cafe is planning to open a quick-service cafe at 1420 Lake Hearn Dr NE A, Brookhaven, GA 30319. Owner Mohammed Saleh told Business Debut the team received city approval and expects to begin construction Feb. 23, with an estimated 90-day buildout.

What to Expect

Larita Cafe is designed for families and individuals, combining a cafe menu with gelato and desserts. “We’re mixing the cafes, sandwiches and pastries with the gelato so everyone can enjoy,” Saleh told Business Debut.

Menu and Vision

Saleh said the main focus will be gelato made in-house. “All the gelato will be made daily, fresh every single day,” he told Business Debut. The menu listed online includes desserts such as eclairs, Paris-Brest, tiramisu, San Sebastian cheesecake, creme brulee and tarts, along with gelato cones and cups in multiple sizes. The cafe also plans crepes, waffles and pancakes, plus pastries including croissants and bombolone, alongside Middle Eastern-inspired sweets.

On the savory side, the menu includes focaccia and sandwiches such as a tuna pan bagnat, turkey club, caprese sandwich and avocado toast bagel. Coffee and drink options include espresso-based staples, pistachio lattes, Italian hot chocolate and nonalcoholic refreshers like virgin mojitos and lavender lemonade.

Saleh said the menu should be close to final, with additional items still in development. He told Business Debut the final menu will be finalized about two to three weeks prior to opening, and the team plans to bring two chefs from Italy for training.

Opening Timeline

Construction is slated to begin Feb. 23, with a projected opening about 90 days later. An exact opening date has not been announced.

Hours

Saleh told Business Debut the plan is 8 a.m.—11 p.m. on weekdays. Weekend hours are planned for 8 a.m.—1 a.m.
