Full-Service Tex-Mex Restaurant Targeting February Opening in Baker
Family Fiesta will offer classic Tex-Mex dishes in a family-oriented setting when it opens in Baker this February.
BAKER, FLORIDA — Family Fiesta is preparing to open February 12 at 5490 Highway 4, Baker, FL 32531, bringing a full-service, family-oriented Tex-Mex restaurant to the community. Owners Ada White and Billy White told Business Debut the restaurant is designed to be a welcoming gathering place for families, children and local teams.
What to Expect
Family Fiesta will operate as a full-service restaurant with indoor seating for about 86 guests, along with a small outdoor patio. The space sits next to a local ballpark, shaping the decision to focus on a family-friendly atmosphere without alcohol service.
“We’re right next to the park where you see baseball and football games every day, with a lot of kids around,” Ada White told Business Debut. “We wanted to keep everything catered to families.”
Menu and Vision
Family Fiesta’s menu centers on traditional Tex-Mex dishes prepared with familiar flavors and a family-first mindset. Guests can expect classics such as fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, chimichangas, burritos, rice and beans, along with house-made cheese dip.
“Our concept is Tex-Mex Mexican food with a family environment,” Ada White told Business Debut. “We want it to feel friendly and comfortable for families.”
One of the restaurant’s signature items is a specialty fajita dish served sizzling over melted cheese, which will be called the bonfire. “The skillet is going to have melted cheese on the bottom,” White said. “It’s really, really good.”
The menu will also include chicken soup, horchata and rotating agua frescas made with fresh fruit. “If we can make a drink out of fresh fruit, we want to do that,” White said. “During strawberry season, we’ll do strawberry agua fresca, or watermelon. It’s very delicious and very fresh.”
Because of the restaurant’s proximity to the ballpark, the menu includes kid-friendly and game-day-inspired options such as touchdown cheeseburgers and hot dogs. “We’re next to the ballpark, so we wanted to do something fun for the kids and families coming from games,” White said.
While the restaurant will not serve alcohol, the focus remains on quality food and hospitality. “I’m very excited and happy to do my best to serve my customers really good food,” White told Business Debut.
Family Behind the Kitchen
The restaurant is a true family operation. Two chefs with nearly 30 years of experience each are leading the kitchen: Fabian Iraheta and his brother Juan Carlos Iraheta. Fabian is Ada White’s father, and Juan Carlos is her uncle.
“He has a passion for what he does,” White said of her father. “He’s here every morning, and he can’t leave without being in the kitchen.”
Ada White’s sister, Luz Iraheta, is also assisting with day-to-day operations. The Whites’ 11-year-old son, Billy “Little Billy” White, has been hands-on during the setup process as well.
“He’s excited,” Billy White told Business Debut. “Every time he’s here, he asks what he can do to help. He’s my copy paste.”
Community Focus
Billy White, a combat veteran, said the restaurant will include a Patriots Corner and plans for a POW/MIA table to honor veterans. The family also intends to support the surrounding community through donations to local youth sports teams and programs. “We really want to support the community and be a part of it,” Billy White said.
