Full-Service Mexican Dining Arriving in Seffner

SEFFNER, FL - Don Jose’s Mexican Grill is preparing to open at 2006 South Parsons Ave., Seffner, FL 33584, bringing a full-service Mexican grill with breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the area, Jose Monasterio told Business Debut. The team is remodeling the former barbecue restaurant and is targeting a soft opening the week of March 9.

What to Expect

The restaurant will offer full-service dining along with a cafeteria-style hot table at lunch for guests looking for a faster option.

“As of right now we are working very hard to get everything together,” Monasterio told Business Debut, noting the space is being updated with a new layout and equipment. He said the goal is to create a welcoming environment for families and regulars alike.

Menu and Vision

Don Jose’s will serve a mix of American and Mexican breakfast, a nod to customers who previously supported Monasterio’s breakfast concept at Mango Plaza before it closed due to redevelopment.

“For breakfast we are going to have American and Mexican breakfast kind of like a mix,” Monasterio told Business Debut. The morning menu is expected to include huevos rancheros, huevos con chorizo, chilaquiles, and breakfast burritos, alongside traditional American plates.

For lunch and dinner, guests can expect Tex-Mex favorites such as fajitas, nachos, and chimichangas, as well as traditional Mexican dishes. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the restaurant plans to make fresh corn tortillas on a comal and serve them to the table. Weekend specials are expected to include caldos and street tacos.

The restaurant will also feature tableside guacamole service. “We are going to bring our cart right there next to your table and make your guacamole right there on the molcajete,” Monasterio told Business Debut.

Ownership and Background

Monasterio said the restaurant is owned by his wife, Erika Moreno, with Monasterio serving as general manager.

He credited Jeremy as his “right hand” in preparing the restaurant for opening and thanked Jeremy’s wife, Amber, for helping bring the concept together. Monasterio also operates Marta’s on 92, the New York Diner and Stephano’s Pizza and Pasta, and said he plans to welcome former Plummer’s Family Restaurant customers to Don Jose’s for breakfast service.

The team is targeting a soft opening the week of March 9th, with final preparations underway.

Hours

Don Jose’s plans to operate seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Breakfast is expected to run from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m., with lunch beginning at 10:30 a.m.
