FreshCo Seafood Market & Grill Opening New Location in Doral
Expect fresh seafood and Key West vibes.
The award-winning restaurant and fish market FreshCo Fish Market and Grill is bringing their concept to Doral, owner Mario Palazon shared with Business Debut.
The new location is planning to open at: 8455 NW 53rd St g103, Doral, FL 33166. They will be next to the Doral Yards food hall and Mister 01 Pizza. Currently, they are wrapping up their construction and hope to have it completed in the first week of June. From there, they will aim to open in mid-July if all continues well.
The restaurant and market will have seating for 120–130 guests, along with a full bar. They will serve breakfast and lunch seven days a week. Palazon shared that there is also a possibility for a seafood brunch in the future.
The restaurant will also host live music performances and will bring a “Key West vibe” to the area, as Palazon is originally from Key West. Expect steel drums and other accents from the area.
The market aspect of the restaurant will be heavily emphasized in the new location. Customers can purchase seafood to take home and cook, or they can order a meal directly from the display cases. Palazon reported that most of the time, when you order a meal, you’ll see staff pull fish directly from the displays to cook it.
The brand has seen tremendous media attention and won several heavy-hitting accolades—Yelp’s 13th best seafood restaurant in 2024, Eat This, Not That’s best Florida seafood restaurant and market, and more. They were invited to come to Doral by developer Armando Codina of Codina Partners, who has been developing the area.
The business is run by Mario and his wife, Maya. Their son, Chef Marco, is a corporate chef for FreshCo.
