Fresh Chinese Takeout Coming Soon to Eastside Atlanta
Opening in six months, the new location will focus on delivery and takeout.

Popular Chinese takeout spot Wok Chi is preparing to expand from Atlanta’s Westside to a new space on the Eastside, located at 460 North Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. Co-owner Chi Kong told Business Debut the team is currently in the permitting stage and estimates the new location will open in about six months, depending on construction timelines.
The upcoming location will be a small-format, mostly to-go operation, with just two or three dine-in tables. The focus will be on takeout, delivery through Uber Eats and DoorDash, and providing a more health-conscious menu featuring fresh meats and vegetables, a continuation of what made the original Wok Chi on Marietta Street a neighborhood favorite. While hours of operation for the Eastside location have not yet been finalized, Kong confirmed the format will be more limited compared to the original full-service restaurant, which includes dine-in and alcohol service.
Kong launched the business three and a half years ago with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kong, who have been cooking professionally for decades. “I'm not the mastermind in the cooking aspect. It's really my parents,” Kong said. “I just handle the paperwork. This is their passion.”
The first Wok Chi has gained a strong following on the Westside, with Kong noting that to-go orders often exceed kitchen capacity during peak hours. After seeing an empty former Pizza Hut space on the Eastside, the idea of opening a second location in a less-served area of town arose. “We just saw an opportunity,” Kong said. “We wanna bring what we bought to the Westside, to the Eastside. We did some research, and there wasn’t any fresh Chinese food there.”
The second location will bring Wok Chi's fresh, made-to-order Chinese food to more Atlantans.
