CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA — Peter McCormick, along with partners Alex Zega and Matt Csillag, is preparing to open Five Iron Golf at 3009 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables, FL 33134. McCormick told Business Debut the team is targeting an April 28 opening, with plans to be open by May 1.

The Coral Gables location will be the group’s Florida flagship for Five Iron Golf. McCormick told Business Debut his company holds the rights to bring the brand to Florida and sees Coral Gables as the first step in a larger rollout.

What to Expect

Five Iron Golf is an indoor golf simulator, bar and restaurant concept centered on entertainment and social dining. McCormick told Business Debut the goal is to create “an elevated place to go socialize or go work on your game,” combining hospitality with a high-end simulator experience.

The Coral Gables venue will feature approximately 175 seats throughout the space, integrated across simulator bays, bowling lanes, bar seating and additional dining areas. McCormick told Business Debut each simulator bay will include dedicated seating, allowing guests to dine and drink while they play, with full service beginning “from the moment you enter our store.”

The location will also introduce Strike Club, a sister concept featuring 12 full-size bowling lanes. McCormick told Business Debut the addition expands the appeal of the venue, creating “a great place to come… bring your family or dates or friends,” while broadening the overall entertainment experience beyond golf.

McCormick told Business Debut the restaurant will operate as a full-service concept with waitstaff, a full bar and service throughout the venue, including at each simulator bay. “Ideally the moment you enter our store, we’re looking to serve you,” he said, noting guests can dine whether they are playing or just stopping in for food and drinks.

The menu is designed to be wide-ranging and approachable. McCormick told Business Debut it pulls from a variety of influences, including Mediterranean and Lebanese dishes alongside tacos, pizzas and traditional golf-club staples. “It’s basically anything that you’d find if you walked from one end of Manhattan to the other,” he said. Among his personal favorites, he highlighted the street tacos, ahi tuna tostada and the club sandwich.

The bar program will include beer, wine, cocktails and a bourbon selection. McCormick told Business Debut the team plans to incorporate some Kentucky influence into the beverage offerings, adding a regional touch to the overall experience.
