Fire In Smoke BBQ House Bringing Caribbean Fusion to Atlanta
Opening in August, the Atlanta restaurant will offer barbecue, seafood, and Caribbean-inspired dishes from a Jamaican chef.

A popular mobile barbecue business, Fire In Smoke BBQ House, is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 1683 Lakewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30315. Owner Errol Roberts told Business Debut he’s targeting an opening date of either August 16 or August 24, depending on the timing of final permits.
Hours will initially be Wednesday through Saturday, with potential for expanded hours including a half-day Sunday, depending on demand.
Roberts, a native of Jamaica, will be including his home country's cuisine on the menu in the brick and mortar. “It’s going to be barbecue, seafood, some Caribbean,” he said. “You’ll see a fusion of American-style barbecue with flavors from back home.”
The new restaurant is just one part of a larger expansion after four years of operating in trailer. It marks a significant milestone for Roberts. “It’s just time to expand now,” he said. “Business has been overwhelming.” Roberts is launching a second food trailer focused on barbecue and seafood in tandem with the brick and mortar. He plans to continue using his original trailer for catering and events.
