TEMPLE TERRACE, FL — Brothers Ahmed Mansour and Ali Mansour are preparing to open Byte, a fast-casual smash burger restaurant, at 10935 N. 56th St., Temple Terrace, FL 33617.

The concept is targeting a February opening, with the team noting that final timing may shift slightly as construction wraps up, Ahmed Mansour told Business Debut. Byte will introduce what the owners describe as an elevated smash burger concept with a tightly focused menu, designed to deliver consistent quality and fast service. The Temple Terrace restaurant will mark the brand’s first location.

What to Expect

Byte is a fast-casual, counter-service restaurant with approximately 30 seats inside. The space is designed with a sleek, urban feel, featuring bar seating and high-end finishes intended to elevate the traditional quick-service experience.

“There’s no waitstaff, but we’re putting a lot of thought into the ambiance,” Ali Mansour told Business Debut. “We want it to feel premium while still being fast and approachable.”

The menu centers on smash burgers, with three core burger offerings and a limited number of sides, all made with an emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Burger options include a classic cheeseburger, a house burger topped with Byte’s house-made sauce, and a truffle burger finished with truffle aioli and crispy onion strings. In addition to beef burgers, Byte will serve a Lebanese-inspired chicken sandwich and a falafel-style veggie smash burger, both influenced by the brothers’ childhood flavors.

Sides include house-made fries, onion strings, and the restaurant’s take on chicken nuggets. Pickle chips are being considered but have not yet been finalized. All burgers will be served on brioche buns sourced from a local bakery.

Dessert offerings will include house-made cookies and milkshakes, with cookies blended directly into the shakes. “Nothing is frozen except the ice cream,” Ahmed Mansour told Business Debut, adding that the team is working toward locally sourced ice cream as well.

Ownership and Inspiration

Ahmed and Ali Mansour, Tampa natives and brothers, bring backgrounds in real estate, retail, and food service to the project. The pair have previously owned and operated Subway locations and beverage-focused concepts.

“We’ve traveled a lot, and we kept chasing that crispy European-style smash burger you find in places like London, Paris, and Dubai,” Ali Mansour told Business Debut. “You can get a thick burger anywhere, but that style didn’t really exist here.”

Both brothers emphasized that their Levantine heritage plays a role in the menu’s flavor profiles, particularly in the chicken and veggie burgers.

Opening Timeline

The Temple Terrace location is targeting a mid-February opening.

The team is also planning a second, larger (flagship) Byte location near the University of Tampa, which is currently targeting a Q4 2026 opening, with Q1 2027 as a possibility.

Hours

Planned hours are still being finalized. The restaurant is expected to open around 11 a.m. and close at 10 p.m., with the potential for later hours on weekends depending on demand.
