Fast Casual Indian Concept Tiffin Box Opening in Tallahassee and Gainesville
Founder Anesh Bodasing is preparing for more growth.
Tiffin Box is expanding into North Florida with upcoming locations in Tallahassee and Gainesville, founder Anesh Bodasing shared with Business Debut.
The brand first launched six years ago in West Palm Beach, where Bodasing and his team focused on refining their fast-casual Indian concept.
After learning from that experience and recognizing that their South Florida location wasn’t the right long-term fit, they closed the West Palm Beach unit in May 2024 and pivoted to targeting college towns.
“College students are looking for something healthy, fast, and cheap,” Bodasing said. These are three things that Tiffin Box can deliver on.
The Tallahassee location will be the first to open, aiming for a late June or early July debut at 799 W Gaines St Unit 113, Tallahassee, FL 32304. It will be located on the ground floor of a student housing complex in a second-generation restaurant space measuring approximately 1,500 square feet. It will operate seven days a week from 11 am to 10 pm.
The Gainesville location will follow, opening in late July at 106G NW 17th St C, Gainesville, FL 32603. It will also be situated on the ground floor of student housing, though this space requires a full build-out. The Gainesville hours will mirror those in Tallahassee, open daily from 11 am to 10 pm.
Bodasing, originally from Canada with roots in South Africa, has worked in the food and beverage industry across South Africa, the UK, and Florida.
The concept for Tiffin Box was in development for over a decade before launching. The name Tiffin Box was inspired by the metal food delivery containers used in Mumbai for more than a century.

The restaurant offers a build-your-own bowl and wrap format featuring authentic Indian ingredients. The menu is designed to be accessible for newcomers while remaining true to Indian culinary traditions.
Expect a bold, energetic atmosphere at Tiffin Box locations, with rock music, vibrant décor, and a familiar fast-casual experience that blends modern appeal with Indian heritage.
