COCOA BEACH, FL — Surfin Cow, a new family-run coffee and ice cream shop, is preparing to open at 174 Canaveral Plaza Blvd., Cocoa Beach, FL 32931. Owner Alyssa Froland told Business Debut the team is targeting a tentative opening on January 26.

The shop is a joint effort by Froland and her husband, Travis. They recently relocated to Cocoa Beach with their children from Minnesota. The concept is designed as a casual, welcoming stop for families, locals, and visitors alike.

What to Expect

Surfin Cow will operate as a counter-service coffee and ice cream shop. Guests can order at the counter and pick up drinks and desserts at the end, making it an easy stop before or after time at the beach.

The space includes booth seating for couples and families, along with higher-top tables that can accommodate groups. The shop will also carry a small selection of locally made, handmade gifts sourced from Cocoa Beach and nearby Titusville.

Surfin Cow is built around simple treats done right, pairing hard ice cream with coffee in a way that’s meant to feel easy and fun for all ages. The menu will include 12 ice cream flavors served in scoops, bowls, cones, and waffle chips, along with shakes, malts, and Italian cream sodas that add a little extra flair.

Coffee offerings will include both hot and iced options, with a rotating lineup of flavors. Froland said they are working to introduce specialty flavorings sourced from France, giving the shop a distinctive touch. “We want to have a unique flavor to our coffee versus other coffee shops,” she told Business Debut.

Ownership and Background

Froland previously owned a boutique and floral shop in Minnesota and had long wanted to add coffee and ice cream to her business. When her family decided to move to Florida, the idea came with them.

“My husband and I and our kids just recently moved down to Florida,” Froland told Business Debut. “I thought, why not still be your own boss and open a coffee and ice cream shop.”

Opening Timeline

The team is targeting a tentative opening date of January 26, with final timing to be announced.

Hours

Surfin Cow plans to operate Monday through Saturday, approximately 8 a.m. to 6 or 7 p.m., with the possibility of adding Sundays in the future.
