JACKSONVILLE, FL — It’s In The DNA Coffee is preparing to open its first independent café at 2105 Park St, Jacksonville, FL 32204. Owner Adriana Henderson told Business Debut the shop is targeting a November 6 opening, with a backup date of November 13 pending final inspections.

What to Expect

The new café will offer 18 seats inside and 15 outside, designed for both dine-in and grab-and-go guests. The layout includes a lounge-style area with couches, bar seating, and tables for guests who want to work or relax. “It’s really an experience where you make it whatever you want it to be,” Henderson told Business Debut. “If you want to grab your coffee and go, you can. If you want full service and a place to unwind, we have that too.” The café will also feature indoor plants from Ray of Sunshine, a Jacksonville-based business. Each plant will be available for purchase, allowing guests to take a piece of the café home with them.

It’s In The DNA Coffee began as a mobile café in 2023 near Mount Dora before growing into a permanent brick-and-mortar space. Henderson and her husband, Delonte Henderson, developed the concept together. The name “DNA” stands for “Delonte and Adriana.”

The menu highlights specialty coffee and breakfast options, including sweet and savory crepes, breakfast sandwiches, and open-faced toasts. The shop’s signature iced drip coffee is a Japanese cold brew method that takes eight hours to prepare and is a customer favorite. “Our iced drip is bold and rich, and once it’s gone, it’s gone,” Henderson said.

“We also love to introduce people to new flavor pairings, like blueberry and banana bread lattes. Coffee should be creative and fun.” Guests will also find smoothies and plant-based energy refreshers, all made with clean, natural ingredients.

Family and Community

Henderson describes It’s In The DNA Coffee as a true family business. Her husband, Delonte, manages operations alongside her, and their daughters also work in the café. “We’ve had so much support from our family throughout this journey,” she told Business Debut. “It’s been a group effort from the beginning, and now we get to share that with the community.”

Beyond coffee, Henderson is passionate about partnering with local entrepreneurs and artists. The café features plants from Ray of Sunshine, a Jacksonville-based business, which fill the shop with greenery and are available for guests to purchase. “We want this space to give others a platform to shine,” she said. “Working with local creators, like the plant partners who make our space so vibrant is a big part of our mission. Supporting local business is what makes a community strong.”

Hours

The café will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 6:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
