Dunc’s Bar and Grill Bringing Southern Yankee Queen to Fort Walton Beach
Southern comfort food, seafood, and bar favorites will anchor the offerings at this new neighborhood spot.
FORT WALTON BEACH, FL — Dunc’s Bar and Grill featuring Southern Yankee Queen is targeting an early May opening at 196 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE Unit H, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548, owner Jean Adames told Business Debut. The concept brings together a bar-driven environment with Southern comfort food led by Beatrice Stjulien, owner of Southern Yankee Queen, who will oversee the kitchen and day-to-day operations.
What to Expect
The concept blends a neighborhood bar with a casual, order-at-the-window food model. Guests can expect indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar with beer and wine, and approximately 10 TVs throughout the space.
The menu will include po’boys, Reubens, wings, and bar favorites alongside Southern staples like oxtails, meatloaf, collard greens, and baked macaroni and cheese, Adames told Business Debut. The space has been fully remodeled by Pedro Adames, Jean’s husband, with additional ownership involvement from her brother Ray Nold.
Menu and Vision
Southern Yankee Queen, previously a catering business, will anchor the food program. Stjulien said the concept grew organically during the pandemic through word-of-mouth demand for her cooking.
Signature items include oxtails, stuffed turkey wings, seafood trays with crab legs and lobster, and Creole-inspired dishes. “Everybody really loves our oxtails,” Stjulien told Business Debut.
The vision centers on a family-oriented atmosphere. “We just want people to come here and make it feel like home,” Adames told Business Debut.
Community support has already played a role in the opening. Adames credited Candace Tanner of the Downtown Fort Walton Beach Coffee Club for helping spread awareness. “She has shared so much information… the support has been overwhelming,” Adames told Business Debut.
Opening Timeline
The restaurant was initially targeting an April opening but is now aiming for the first week of May, pending final approvals, Adames told Business Debut.
Hours
Dunc’s Bar and Grill plans to operate seven days a week from 11 a.m. – 2 a.m., with the kitchen serving full menu items until the evening before transitioning to a late-night bar menu.
Weekend brunch is expected to run from 11 a.m. – 2 or 3 p.m., featuring items such as chicken and waffles, duck and waffles, quiche, and seafood-focused brunch dishes.
