Dua Cafe Opening Soon in Clearwater Beach
Breakfast items, pastries, and brunch dishes will define the offerings.
CLEARWATER BEACH, FL — Dua Cafe is targeting a May 1 opening at 22 Bay Esplanade, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767-1603, where owner John Shehu told Business Debut that he is bringing a takeaway cafe and all-day brunch concept to a long-vacant beachside space.
Shehu and his father and business partner, Elvin Shehu, are behind the new concept. Sabina Shehu will manage day-to-day operations at the cafe.
What to Expect
Dua Cafe will focus on breakfast and brunch served all day, with a mix of grab-and-go service and seating for guests who want to stay awhile. Shehu told Business Debut the cafe is designed as an easy first stop before the beach, but also as a place where guests can cool off, sit in the shade, and enjoy a meal during the day.
The space will include about 20 seats upstairs and roughly 40 outdoor seats downstairs. Guests can expect coffee, fresh-baked goods, crepes, mini Dutch pancakes, wraps, sandwiches, and other quick breakfast and lunch options.
Menu and Vision
Shehu said the menu will center on fresh ingredients and housemade items, including croissants, bagels, pancakes, crepes, pistachio butters, and bourbon barrel-aged maple syrups. He told Business Debut the team also plans to keep the menu small enough to allow for seasonal specials and rotating offerings built around fresh local ingredients.
The family also owns Soul Mediterranean on Clearwater Beach, and Shehu said Dua Cafe gives them room to explore a more casual concept while still focusing on quality. “We have some great ideas and we just thought it would be a great opportunity here and something great to bring to the people on the beach.” Shehu told Business Debut.
Opening Timeline
Dua Cafe is targeting a May 1 opening, which Shehu described as the safest date after renovation work on the previously closed restaurant space took longer than expected. He told Business Debut the team took over a location that had been closed for about six years and was previously a Dairy Queen and briefly a Belgian waffle restaurant.
Hours
The current plan is to operate daily from 8 a.m.—5 p.m., though Shehu said those hours could shift based on customer demand.
