ORLANDO, FL – A new fast-casual Indian restaurant, Desi Bistro, is preparing to open at 12058 Collegiate Way, Orlando, FL 32817. Co-owner Sharif Bappy told Business Debut that they will open on August 25.

Build-Your-Own Indian Flavors

Desi Bistro will be a Chipotle-inspired build-your-own concept but with an Indian twist. It will allow guests to customize their meals by choosing from bases such as rice or naan, a variety of proteins, house-made sauces, and fresh salads.

“It will be a fast-casual restaurant that's more like Chipotle, but with an Indian style,” Bappy shared. “It's not like a traditional Indian kind of food, where they have pretty set stuff. Rather, customers can mix and match from the different kinds of protein, rice, or even sauce.”

The restaurant will also serve handcrafted beverages, such as mango lassi, made from in-house recipes.

Owners’ Background

This will be Bappy’s first restaurant under the Desi Bistro concept, but he is no stranger to the food business. He previously owned a restaurant in New York and currently operates Desi Mart in Orlando. His business partner, Aqim Prince, is also part of the new venture.

Seating & Opening Hours

The restaurant will have 38 indoor seats and an outdoor patio that's used during cooler weather. It's designed for college students and will be open every day from 11 a.m. until midnight. The late hours are due to the area primarily serving students. “We're heading toward midnight because it's a student focus,” Bappy said.

For updates, stay tuned for Desi Bistro’s social media, which may launch soon once they’re finally open.
