DADE COUNTY

CVI.CHE 105

A fresh location for the upscale CVI.CHE 105 brand is in the works for Coral Gables, according to Director of Operations Lilyan Lam. A timeline for opening is unavailable as of now, Lam said.

The CVI.CHE 105 brand is led by the Peruvian Chef Juan Chipoco. They have a popular presence throughout South Florida with several locations of CVI.CHE 105 and other concepts. By my estimation, this is their fifth 105 unit.

New York Roma Pizza

Owner Tomas Euvin told FFBW that he is planning to re-open a location of New York Roma Pizza that has been closed down for several years. The new location will be in Coconut Grove at: 3034 Grand Ave, Miami, FL 33133. After some licensing goes through, the address may be slightly different, Euvin said.

Bros Hot Chicken

Miami's first Nashville-style hot chicken restaurant is already planning to expand after opening a month ago in July. Owner David Adan told FFBW that since they debuted, they've received great feedback and turnout.

Details about the forthcoming location are still under wraps. Adan doesn't have an address to share yet, but the new unit is expected to open in late 2023 or early 2024.

Pronto Cafe

A new cafeteria is in the works for Hialeah, co-owner Alex Stephan told FFBW. Pronto Cafe is in the permitting process, and Stephan plans to open in a couple of months. More details about the concept are under wraps for now.

Find Pronto Cafe at: 86 W 29th St, Hialeah, FL 33012. Also at this address is the Pronto Latino market, so it seems that the brand is expanding into a restaurant as well; however, this has not been confirmed.



Jimmy John's

A local franchising group, Toss It Up Inc, is planning to open a new Jimmy John's in Miami Springs, owner Ryan McGuire told FFBW. This new Miami Springs unit is the first of 10-12 restaurant expansion between the Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

McGuire said that they expect to debut this restaurant in November. Toss It Up, Inc expects their large expansion initiative to take 4-5 years.

BROWARD COUNTY

Cara Palida Brewery

A brewery concept is in the works for Hallandale, co-owner Adrian Oriolo told FFBW. Cara Palida Brewery will serve a wide range of brews from a self-pouring tap wall. Oriolo told FFBW that they plan to open in November.

The new brewery will appear at: 207 NE 1st Ave, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009.

LEE COUNTY

Let's Waffle

Details are slim at this time, but a new concept called Let's Waffle is headed into Cape Coral, co-owner Nadin Feix-Schorling said. The business is in the early stages right now, and Feix-Schorling said that she'd like to open by December.

ORANGE COUNTY

Leiah Restaurant

A new fine dining concept is in the works for Orlando, owner Omar Torres told FFBW. Leiah Restaurant will serve seafood and meat, Torres said, and they will be creating their dishes from scratch, using the finest ingredients.

The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner, seat around 50 people, include a chef's table, and the meals will consist of anywhere from seven to 12 courses. The menus will shift based on what local ingredients are available, Torres said.

Torres reported that he is drawing on his experience as a chef at the Ritz Carlton, the Waldorf Astoria, and as a regional food and beverage manager for Hilton. The restaurant is under construction now, and Torres plans to open in January 2024.

BarkHaven Dog Park Bar

A new dog park, beer garden, restaurant, and hangout spot is coming to Orlando soon, co-owner Carlisle Craig told FFBW. BarkHaven will feature drinks, an off-leash play area, groomers, and a food truck. The indoor facility will be 3,800 square feet, and the off-leash play area for the pups will be 4,300 square feet.

Craig said that this is the first concept of its kind that he and his partners have embarked on. They just began construction, and they expect to open in January 2024.

They will be along the Orlando Urban Trial at: 724 Brookhaven Dr, Orlando, FL 32803.

SEMINOLE COUNTY

Tainos Bakery

An authentic Puerto Rican restaurant brand is continuing to expand in the area, co-owner Nicolas Fuste told FFBW. Tainos Bakery is working toward opening its 7th location in Casselberry, and then will continue to open two more units this year.

The Casselberry unit is slated to open in the first week of September, Fuste said. They've been planning this restaurant for a year; and they are near finished converting what used to be an IHOP into Tainos Bakery. The address is: 700 FL-436, Casselberry, FL 32707.

Additionally, they will open in Orlando in October at: 10725 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32817. Fuste said this unit is moving much faster than the Casselberry location.

Before the year is out, Fuste said that they want to plant another restaurant in Winter Garden or Ocoee. An address isn't available yet. Keep an eye on their website for more updates.

OSCEOLA COUNTY

Xing Fu Tang

Florida's first location of the brand Xing Fu Tang bubble tea will appear in Kissimmee, co-franchisee Lam Dinh told FFBW. Their store is in the permitting stage now, and they expect to commence construction in the next few weeks. Dinh hopes to open in December '23 or January '24.

The brand has several units in New York, California, and Texas. Dinh and his partners are the master franchisers for the state of Florida, and they will continue expanding.

Xing Fu Tang is known for its open kitchen, where they hand make and cook the boba that they put in their teas.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

Rakki

A local Tampa-area chef is opening his first restaurant this fall, Chef Israel Mora told FFBW. Rakki will draw on Asian style cuisine, serving noodles, rice, and sandwiches. Look at their website.

Mora told FFBW that they recently commenced construction, and that he is hoping for an October opening. Mora has been a personal chef for 28 years, and this is his first restaurant. Find the business at: 6705 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33604.


Crispy Zone Seafood and Grill

A new fried seafood spot is in the works for Tampa, owner Fadi Hammad told FFBW. Crispy Zone is under construction right now, and Hammad expects to open in September.

Rollin Rilla

A new food truck is in the works for the Brandon area, owner Jeff Crane told FFBW. Rollin Rilla is in the process of opening, and Crane also said that they are scouting locations for a brick and mortar unit.

Crane is also an owner of Gasprilla, a pizza and beer growler concept.
