Connecticut Pizza and Pasta Opening Soon in Lawrenceville
The restaurant brings scratch-made Greek-style pan pizza, pasta, calzones, and wings, with a family recipe dating back to 1955.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – Connecticut Pizza and Pasta is preparing to open soon at 1215 Scenic Hwy S, Lawrenceville, GA 30045. Owner Michael White told Business Debut that, after a year of construction delays, the restaurant is now in its final stages of permitting and expects to open within the next month.
The new location will bring a family recipe dating back to 1955 from the legendary “Papa’s Pizza” in Connecticut. White explained that the concept centers around scratch-made recipes, overnight dough, and a Greek-style pan pizza tradition. “Everything is done from scratch. It’s a Greek-style pizza. We do pan pizza, but also offer thin crust, calzones, wings, salads, and pasta,” he said.
Menu Highlights & Operating Hours
The menu will include seafood-inspired creations, such as jerk salmon pizza and shrimp pizza, as well as fresh vegetarian options. Standard favorites such as pepperoni, sausage, and anchovy pies will also be available, along with hearty calzones, chicken souvlaki, and beef gyros. “No one does good calzone anymore,” White added with pride.

Once open, Connecticut Pizza and Pasta will operate seven days a week:
- Monday–Saturday: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Sunday: 12 p.m. – 9 p.m.
The restaurant will focus on takeout, delivery, and catering, with limited seating for about 12 guests.
A Legacy of Pizza Making
The restaurant is part of a larger story of family and tradition. White partnered with Harry Zopounidis, whose family has been carrying on Papa’s Pizza since the 1950s. He first joined the business 20 years ago in Connecticut before relocating to Georgia. The Lawrenceville location will be the group’s seventh restaurant, joining others in College Park, CT, Brick and Barrel Suburban Bistro, and Bank Sports Bar in Salt Lake City, UT.
Hiring Pizza Cooks & Staff Now
As the restaurant approaches its grand opening, White is actively hiring four pizza cooks and staff. “We need pizza chefs who are passionate about making pizza and willing to learn,” he explained. Those interested in applying can email CTPIZZAANDPAST@GMAIL.COM for details.
