Coming Soon to Prattville: Smash Mouth Foods

PRATTVILLE, AL – Smash Mouth Foods plans to open its fifth location at 2130 Cobbs Ford Rd, Prattville, AL 36066 targeting mid to late August, owner Jared Hawsey told Business Debut in a recent phone interview.
Hawsey owns the business with his father, Tracy Hawsey. The Prattville and Greenville locations are managed by partner Chapman Simmons, Hawsey said.
What to Expect
Smash Mouth Foods specializes in smashburgers cooked on a flat top, Hawsey told Business Debut. Hawsey said ingredients are fresh and prepared in-house several times a day. "Everything we use is fresh, hand cut, hand rolled daily," he told Business Debut.
He described the concept as highly customizable. "We are a lot like the Build-A-Bear Workshop of a burger place," Hawsey told Business Debut. Customers choose their own toppings, with an "all the way" option available for guidance, he said.
Hawsey described orders that range from multi-patty burgers with mixed cheeses and fries on top to combinations with fried or grilled chicken on the burger itself. Their slogan is "your burger your way."
The Prattville restaurant will operate in a compact space, Hawsey told Business Debut. He said the dining room will seat about 21 or 22 guests.
A pickup window will support online orders placed ahead of time, Hawsey shared. He said the setup aims to help the team handle Prattville’s larger market within the constraints of the smaller building.
Hawsey said all locations focus on a consistent menu and process. He shared that the shift from trailers to dining rooms led to a steep increase in business once customers could sit and eat on-site.
Brand History
Smash Mouth Foods started as a food trailer in Andalusia, Alabama, on August 24, 2021. After several years of slow growth through trailers, the brand moved into brick-and-mortar restaurants, starting with Andalusia in October 2025. The company has since added locations in Luverne, Greenville and Geneva, and is preparing its fifth location in Prattville.
Opening Timeline
Hawsey said the team is targeting an opening between the middle and end of August.
An exact opening date remains to be announced.
