Coming Soon to Calhoun: Casa Brasa Peruvian Restaurant [Owner Interview]
Here's a sneak peak of the plans!
CALHOUN, GA – Casa Brasa, a new Peruvian restaurant from owners Evelyn and Ysmel Cruz, is targeting an opening in the third week of August at 214 N River St, Calhoun, GA 30701, Cruz shared with Business Debut in a phone interview. Casa Brasa will be the couple’s first restaurant.
What to Expect
Cruz said Casa Brasa will operate as a full-service restaurant with a bar and cocktails. The space will serve lunch and dinner, with breakfast service planned on Sundays, she told Business Debut. Cruz said they are focused on creating a sit-down experience for guests.
Price points will start around $10 for plates, with higher-priced steak options available, Cruz told Business Debut. She said the goal is to offer a full meal at an accessible price while also featuring premium cuts of meat.

Menu and Vision
Casa Brasa will center on Peruvian cuisine. The menu will feature fish, steak and a mix of Japanese influences that are part of Peru’s food culture, Cruz told Business Debut.
Cruz said one of the key features will be Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken cooked over charcoal. She explained that the restaurant has arranged to bring in a rotisserie machine from Peru to achieve the specific flavor they want.
Cruz said she and her husband have worked in other types of businesses and that opening a restaurant has long been her husband’s goal. “He’s been always dreaming about having a restaurant, so we’re going for it,” Cruz told Business Debut.
